A leading engineering and design firm in downtown Fort Worth is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join its expanding industrial team. This office supports a wide range of clients across the Food, Beverage, and Pharmaceutical sectors, delivering high-performance warehouse and manufacturing facilities that meet stringent operational and regulatory standards.
The team works on hundreds of projects annually, ranging from ground-up warehouse shell buildings to complex renovations, expansions, and retrofits. Engineers collaborate directly with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored solutions that support production, logistics, and compliance needs.
Project Types Include:
- New construction of GMP-compliant warehouse shell buildings for food processing, beverage bottling, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Custom elevated structural platforms for interior and exterior equipment installations.
- Facility expansions and retrofits, including seismic upgrades, load capacity enhancements, and structural remediation.
- Forensic assessments of aging industrial structures to evaluate performance and recommend solutions.
- Integrated design coordination with architectural, MEP, and process engineering teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer, analyze, and design structural systems for industrial buildings, with a focus on warehouse shells.
- Prepare detailed narrative reports outlining project scope, design rationale, and recommendations.
- Review and approve shop drawings and structural calculation submittals.
- Lead coordination efforts with internal and external teams to ensure design integrity and clash resolution.
- Conduct forensic studies and assess structural impacts of building modifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development across the team.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client expectations throughout design and construction phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, ideally with industrial building types.
- Proficiency in concrete, steel, tilt-up, and foundation design.
- Experience with RISA or similar structural analysis software.
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical facility design is highly preferred.
