Civil Project Engineer - Mining

Project Civil Engineer - Mining Sector (Denver, CO)

Full-Time | Consulting | 4+ Years Civil Design Experience
A highly regarded multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join its Denver team. This is an excellent opportunity for civil engineers who want to move beyond traditional land development and apply their technical skills to mining and large-scale earthworks projects.

About the Opportunity

You'll be part of a team that supports civil and earthworks design for active and legacy mine sites across North America. The work includes site infrastructure, grading, drainage, water management features, and earthworks tied to major mining and environmental projects.
This role is ideal for someone who wants more project ownership, meaningful technical influence, and a consulting environment that values engineering rigor over volume-driven delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support civil design for mining and environmental infrastructure projects
  • Prepare design drawings, grading plans, drainage layouts, and earthworks models
  • Contribute to permitting, design reports, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with geotechnical, environmental, and hydrology teams
  • Work directly with project managers and senior technical staff
  • Participate in field visits and site assessments as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of civil engineering design experience (site development, grading, stormwater, or earthworks)
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D or similar design tools
  • Experience in consulting is helpful, but not required
  • Strong technical communication and detail orientation
  • Interest in expanding into mining, tailings, reclamation, or large-scale earthworks projects
  • PE (or ability to obtain) required

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work on complex, high-impact infrastructure projects in the mining sector
  • Gain exposure to multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Operate in a leaner structure where engineers have direct influence on project outcomes
  • Opportunities to broaden technical range beyond typical land development work
  • Strong professional development through hands-on project ownership
