Traffic Signal Design Engineer -(Hybrid | New Haven, CT)
An established and growing engineering firm is seeking a full-time Traffic signal Engineer to join its Traffic Design Team in a hybrid role based in New Haven, Connecticut. This position is ideal for candidates with 5+ years of experience in transportation or traffic engineering who are looking to advance their career in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with:
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local design standards, including MUTCD and AASHTO
- Experience with traffic engineering software such as:
- Highway Capacity Software (HCS)
- SYNCHRO / SIMTRAFFIC
- CORSIM
- Background supporting transportation projects including:
- Traffic data analysis
- Technical report writing
- Corridor and safety studies
- Traffic signal design
- Maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) plans
- Traffic impact and operations analyses
- Highway, intersection, or interchange improvements
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support traffic engineering services on various state and municipal projects. Responsibilities will involve analysis, design development, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
