Role Overview
A high‑growth climate transformation consultancy and technology platform is seeking a Director - Supply Chain Decarbonisation & Carbon Advisory to lead complex, enterprise‑scale decarbonisation engagements across global value chains.
This role will own senior client relationships and delivery across Scope 3 emissions management, supplier engagement, carbon data, and net‑zero strategy, with a particular emphasis on European‑headquartered multinationals operating globally.
The Director will work at the intersection of strategy, consulting, data, and execution, translating climate ambition into credible, measurable outcomes across procurement, supply chains, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Decarbonisation Leadership
- Lead end‑to‑end Scope 3 and value‑chain decarbonisation programmes for large, complex organisations.
- Design and execute supplier engagement strategies, emissions reduction pathways, and transition roadmaps.
- Support clients in prioritising hotspots, abatement levers, and investment decisions across global supply chains.
- Drive integration of decarbonisation into procurement, sourcing, and supplier management functions.
Carbon Strategy & Advisory Delivery
- Lead development of net‑zero strategies aligned with science‑based targets and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee enterprise carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Translate regulatory, investor, and customer requirements into practical delivery plans.
- Ensure high‑quality consulting delivery across multiple concurrent engagements.
European Market & Client Leadership
- Act as senior advisor to European‑based multinationals and regional leadership teams.
- Support clients navigating European sustainability regulations and disclosure expectations.
- Lead executive workshops, steering committees, and board‑level discussions.
- Build long‑term strategic relationships with key enterprise clients.
Carbon Data, Platforms & Enablement
- Guide implementation of carbon accounting platforms and supplier data solutions.
- Ensure emissions data integrity, governance, and audit readiness.
- Embed carbon data into decision‑making, reporting, and performance management.
- Work closely with product and data teams to shape solution evolution based on client needs.
Risk, Compliance & Reporting
- Support clients on compliance with GHG Protocol, SBTi, CSRD, ISSB, and related frameworks.
- Identify climate‑related transition risks and supply‑chain exposure.
- Ensure credibility and defensibility of sustainability claims and disclosures.
- Prepare clients for assurance, audits, and external scrutiny.
Commercial Growth & Leadership
- Contribute to business development through solution shaping, proposals, and executive pitches.
- Lead and mentor consulting teams across regions.
- Build internal capability in supply‑chain decarbonisation and Scope 3 delivery.
- Drive consistency, best practices, and continuous improvement across projects.
Qualifications
- 9-15 years' experience in sustainability consulting, climate strategy, supply‑chain decarbonisation, or carbon advisory.
- Proven leadership delivering Scope 3 and supplier‑focused decarbonisation programs.
- Strong understanding of global and European sustainability regulations and frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience working with multinational, multi‑tier supply chains.
- Experience implementing CBAM is a huge plus.
- Excellent executive‑level communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
- European market exposure (client, regulatory, or delivery) is essential.
- Consulting or advisory background strongly preferred.
