About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a high‑performing engineering team delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical data center projects across the West Coast. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work on complex electrical systems that power hyperscale environments while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project managers.
This is an Engineer Level 4 position-ideal for someone who is technically strong, comfortable working independently, and capable of leading portions of engineering efforts with minimal oversight.
What You'll Do
Engineering & Design
- Lead electrical design tasks and provide weekly progress updates with accurate time estimates.
- Produce complete construction document packages for data center projects, including drawings, specifications, point‑to‑point schedules, control diagrams, conductor heat calculations, and detailed power system studies.
- Perform advanced engineering calculations and complex hyperscale data center power studies.
- Coordinate design work with equipment submittals and ensure alignment with project scope and requirements.
Technical Quality & Compliance
- Participate in QA/QC reviews throughout design and construction phases.
- Ensure all documents comply with state requirements and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Provide construction‑phase support and respond to technical inquiries.
- Assist in project coordination meetings with architects, MEP teams, general contractors, owner representatives, and project managers.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as a technical resource for Designers, Engineers, Estimators, and Project Managers.
- Mentor Designers on electrical design fundamentals and project‑specific applications.
- Support implementation of standardized design workflows and CAD/BIM practices.
- Coordinate with CAD/BIM Managers to secure project drafting and modeling support.
Professional Development
- Maintain continuing education requirements and technical certifications.
- Contribute to improvements in standards, design methods, and engineering best practices.
About You
- Strong skills in AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and power analysis tools (ETAP or SKM).
- Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management abilities.
- Able to work autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
- 3-5 years of experience with an electrical design firm or design‑build electrical contractor.
- Proven experience preparing construction documents and performing power system analyses.
Compensation & Benefits
