A respected heavy civil contractor in the Alexandria area is seeking a Senior Estimator with strong bridge and/or tunnel construction experience to support major infrastructure pursuits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimates for bridge, tunnel, and complex heavy civil projects.
- Review plans, specs, and technical documents to develop accurate scopes and pricing.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and cost analysis.
- Prepare proposals and participate in bid strategy meetings.
- Support value‑engineering, risk analysis, and constructability reviews.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience, ideally with bridge/tunnel focus.
- Strong understanding of structural concrete, deep foundations, excavation, and utilities.
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS or similar).
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and manage multiple bids.
