Remote Professional Engineer (P.E.) - Electrical / I&C Engineering

Location: Remote (Albuquerque, NM Area)

Role Overview

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) based in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area to support and lead engineering efforts for projects across oil & gas, water/wastewater, and industrial facilities. This is a remote position, with periodic travel to project sites as needed.

This role blends technical design, project oversight, and client coordination, supporting work from early planning through construction and commissioning. The ideal candidate is a well‑rounded engineer with strong experience in power and control systems and the ability to manage multiple projects while serving as a technical lead.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and review of electrical and control systems, including power distribution, instrumentation, and automation systems
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) where required and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Develop and review engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
  • Work directly with clients to define project scope, requirements, and technical solutions
  • Oversee project execution, including schedules, budgets, and overall quality
  • Support procurement activities, including equipment selection and vendor coordination
  • Provide field support during installation, startup, and commissioning
  • Review contractor work and resolve technical issues during project delivery
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in New Mexico required
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, controls, or industrial engineering
  • Experience supporting oil & gas, water/wastewater, or industrial infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA, and control system integration
  • Familiarity with NEC and applicable electrical codes
  • Ability to manage projects independently and work in a remote environment
  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills
  • Willingness to travel for project and site support

Compensation

Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000+, based on experience, licensure, and project leadership capabilities.
