About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead automation and power system solutions for industrial applications, with a focus on drive technologies in the metals sector. This role involves technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and mentoring across all phases of project execution-from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead upgrades and integration of DC and AC drive systems
- Define power system requirements for drive feeders and protection
- Design regulator performance based on process application needs
- Provide technical expertise in melting, casting, and rolling mill operations
- Support and troubleshoot installed systems using data analysis and process knowledge
- Develop and improve engineering techniques and procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
- Mentor junior engineers during project design and execution
- Conduct on-site commissioning and deliver client training as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Extensive experience in engineering roles within metals or similar industries
- Strong background in automation, power distribution, and drive systems
- Proven ability to solve complex design and operational challenges
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff
- Willingness to travel for project support
- Advanced troubleshooting and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication and computer proficiency
