Project Manager - Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing)


Location: Prince Frederick, MD (serving MD, VA & DC).

Position Overview

We are is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This individual will be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical construction projects (HVAC, plumbing, piping) from award to close-out
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules and manpower plans
  • Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, and field teams
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring performance and compliance
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Handle change orders, RFIs, and contract administration
  • Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and reporting
  • Lead project closeout including punch list, commissioning, and documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management
  • Strong background in HVAC, piping, or plumbing systems
  • Experience managing commercial or government projects preferred
  • Proven ability to manage projects valued from $100K to multi-million dollar range
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications
  • Strong financial management and cost control skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in design-build projects
  • Familiarity with public sector or institutional construction
  • OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 30)
