Roadway Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Roadway Engineer to deliver technical excellence on roadway design projects in Gainesville. This role focuses on hands-on design and production work, with minimal mentoring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced roadway design in compliance with FDOT standards and municipal/county requirements.
- Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD for roadway design and plan preparation.
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams and external agencies for project deliverables.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for permitting and approvals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 7-10 years of roadway design experience, with strong municipal and county project background.
- Proficiency in FDOT design standards and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on complex technical tasks.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with FDOT District 2 projects and local government roadway design.
- Familiarity with traffic analysis and drainage coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple technical assignments and meet deadlines.
