Role Overview:
The Sales Director will drive the company's growth in Malaysia by leading sales and business development for utility-scale and C&I energy storage projects. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep industry knowledge, and proven success in closing complex deals with utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and large industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Malaysia's energy storage market.
- Identify and secure opportunities in utility-scale projects (grid services, renewable integration) and C&I applications (peak shaving, backup power, microgrids).
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities, IPPs, EPCs, developers, and large industrial customers.
- Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions and ensure project success.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
- Represent Hithium at industry events and position the brand as a trusted energy storage partner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, or Business; MBA preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in sales/business development within energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems.
- Proven track record in utility-scale and/or C&I projects in Malaysia.
- Strong network with utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and industrial clients.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel across Malaysia and regionally as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with BESS economics, hybrid solar-storage solutions, and grid integration.
- Experience with long-term service agreements, performance guarantees, and project financing
