Location: Atlanta, GA

Overview
The Senior Environmental Specialist provides technical expertise and project leadership for environmental consulting projects. This role involves managing complex assignments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships. This client is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm located just north of the perimeter and is seeking an environmental specialist with at least 5 years of experience with the drive to add value to their firm and their career.

Key Duties

  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Risk Assessments, Corrective Action Plans, and Compliance Status Reports.
  • Analyze data, interpret findings, and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Manage projects of varying size and complexity, including tracking budgets, schedules, and coordinating subcontractors and sub-consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations; maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and government agency personnel.
  • Supervise and mentor staff on small to medium-sized projects; review work for quality and accuracy.
  • Assist with proposal development and project scoping.
  • Build expertise in specialized areas such as wetlands, vapor intrusion, asbestos, or indoor air quality.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM) are a plus.
