Senior Scheduler
Senior Project Controls Scheduler
About the Organisation
My client is a multidisciplinary construction services consultancy established in 2010, supporting public and private sector clients on complex, live construction programmes. The team brings together more than 100 years of combined hands-on site and project leadership experience, with a strong focus on planning and project controls.
They support the full project lifecycle, including constructability and contract time determination, document and change management, schedule compliance, claims processes, and wider project management. A core part of their work is CPM scheduling and schedule analytics on major infrastructure and building projects, helping clients make informed, evidence-based decisions.
The Opportunity
My client is looking for a Senior Scheduler / Senior Planner (Primavera P6) to take ownership of programme development and schedule governance across major construction projects in energy & infrastructure, civil and buildings, bridges, and rail/railroads.
This role is based in office either in Carlisle or Agawam, Massachusetts.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can build robust baseline schedules from scratch, maintain them through disciplined update cycles, and turn planning data into clear, usable reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules using Primavera P6, aligned with contract requirements and delivery strategy
- Build fully detailed baseline programmes including WBS, logic, calendars, and sequencing
- Lead schedule update cycles, including progress collection, validation, and status updates
- Carry out critical path analysis, float tracking, and identify risks within the programme
- Produce clear reporting including narratives, dashboards, lookaheads, and schedule health metrics
- Ensure schedule governance and compliance with client or contractual requirements
- Run what-if scenarios and recovery plans to support programme decision-making
- Support time impact analysis and delay analysis where required
- Work closely with project controls and commercial teams on progress and performance reporting
- Engage with site teams to ensure the schedule reflects real constraints and construction logic
- Support or contribute to 4D planning where relevant
Essential Experience & Skills
- Expert-level Primavera P6 experience, including building schedules from first principles
- Strong background in CPM scheduling within construction environments
- Project exposure across energy & utilities, infrastructure, civil, bridges, rail/railroads, or buildings
- Proven ability to manage baselines, updates, and progress measurement
- Strong understanding of critical path, logic, float, and schedule integrity
- Ability to produce clear, client-facing reporting that supports decision-making
- Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and project interfaces
- Understanding of change management and schedule impact on commercial outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Practical mindset with the ability to challenge constructively
Desirable / Nice-to-have
- Experience supporting time impact analysis or delay claims
- Understanding of schedule risk and scenario modelling
- Exposure to cost or resource loading within schedules
- Experience with earned value or performance tracking
- Familiarity with Power BI or advanced Excel reporting
- 4D modelling or BIM-linked scheduling exposure
- Consultancy or client-facing experience
- Relevant project controls or construction-related qualifications
Success in the first 90 days looks like…
- You've built strong relationships with both internal teams and client stakeholders
- Baseline and update processes are running smoothly and consistently
- Reporting is clear, concise, and actively used for decision-making
- The programme shows improved quality and logical integrity
