About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Treatment Engineer to lead complex water infrastructure projects across Virginia. This position focuses on designing and delivering advanced solutions for water and wastewater treatment systems, pipelines, pump stations, and related facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering design for water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and remediation projects
- Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Perform water quality assessments and hydraulic modeling
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and provide project updates
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
- Represent the organization at industry events and client meetings
- Contribute to technical knowledge through research, publications, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 12 years of experience in water treatment and environmental engineering
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and advanced engineering techniques
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Experience managing large-scale water treatment projects
- Familiarity with Virginia regulatory frameworks

- Occasional travel may be required based on project needs
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
