Survey Crew Chief
We're partnered with a growing civil engineering and surveying firm with a strong pipeline of transportation and infrastructure work across Wisconsin. They are looking to add a Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations on a range of civil and roadway projects.
This is a hands-on role with daily field responsibility, leadership of crews, and direct involvement in high-profile infrastructure work.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise survey crews in daily field operations across transportation and civil projects
- Perform and oversee field surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout work
- Operate and manage survey equipment such as GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Interpret construction plans, drawings, and project specifications to execute field work accurately
- Collect, verify, and document survey data, including field notes, sketches, and reports
- Coordinate daily with project managers, engineers, and clients on progress and scheduling
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements and survey standards
- Train and mentor crew members while enforcing safety procedures in the field
Qualifications
- 4+ years of land surveying experience with prior crew chief or party chief responsibility
- Experience supporting civil, roadway, or transportation projects
- Strong background in construction staking, control surveys, and topographic work
- Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and field data collection workflows
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and legal descriptions
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments year-round
