The Role
An Assistant Project Manager (Mission Critical) is required to support the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day project delivery on complex builds.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure across the full project lifecycle, working closely with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and manage contracts, purchase orders, and change orders
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, ensuring timely responses
- Support pricing and preparation of change orders
- Coordinate insurance documentation and ensure compliance
- Maintain subcontractor and vendor records
- Assist in managing permitting processes and municipality submissions
- Liaise with legal teams on contracts, insurance, and risk-related matters
- Act as a point of contact for subcontractors to resolve project issues
- Support scheduling, reporting, and project documentation (including meeting minutes and progress updates)
- Coordinate subcontractors and distribute updated drawings
- Assist with procurement processes and subcontract packages
- Track warranties and support project closeout documentation
- Contribute to site safety initiatives and training (e.g. OSHA, HAZWOPER)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 2+ years' experience in construction, ideally within mission critical or similar sectors
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changing project demands
- Confident communicator with solid stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable using standard construction and project management systems
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
