Aviation Project Engineer
This leading firm is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas. The employee-owned company is more than 400-people strong and serves clients nationwide from multiple U.S. locations. This firm is seeking a talented and motivated Aviation Project Engineer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the planning, design, and execution of aviation infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and innovation at every stage. As a trusted partner for clients in the aviation industry, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that enhance airport operations and support the continued growth of the aviation sector.
Responsibilities:
- Engineering lead for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
- Design and construction oversight for general aviation clients
- Collaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
- Coordination with clients and funding agencies
- Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
- Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
- Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
- Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of Civil Engineering or aviation related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama and Florida, or an ability to obtain within 6 months of start date, is required
- Experience using MicroStation V8i and/or AutoCad; Civil3D experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designs
- Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
