Controls Technician (Building Automation Systems)
Location: Tampa, FL
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service Building Automation Systems (BAS) for commercial and industrial facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience in HVAC controls, DDC systems, and building automation technologies.
Responsibilities
- Install, start up, and commission BAS/DDC control systems and field devices.
- Troubleshoot HVAC controls, controllers, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
- Perform preventative maintenance, service calls, and system repairs.
- Read control drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans to support installation and troubleshooting.
- Work directly with customers to resolve issues and optimize system performance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems or HVAC Controls.
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, DDC controls, and low-voltage wiring.
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based control networks preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites.
