Building Enclosure Field Testing Lead
My Client is looking for an experienced Building Enclosure Field Testing Lead to join their building sciences team in Phoenix, AZ.
Position Overview
This role involves leading on-site testing projects, collecting data, and preparing detailed reports. Responsibilities include setting up test environments, operating specialized equipment, and interacting with clients during testing procedures. The position also requires physical work, including the use of high-reach equipment and participation in forensic investigations of building envelope issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field testing operations and manage data collection and reporting.
- Construct temporary test chambers using basic carpentry skills.
- Operate testing equipment inside buildings and coordinate with clients during tests.
- Use high-reach equipment such as boom lifts and scaffolding.
- Support investigations into building envelope failures, including exterior isolation work.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding site conditions and test logistics.
- Coordinate on-site needs such as utilities and access by liaising with stakeholders.
- Travel frequently, including overnight stays (travel expenses and per diem covered).
- Perform physically demanding tasks as required by the role.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, building envelope systems, or fenestration.
- Willingness and ability to learn about building envelope systems and their installation methods.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn relevant testing standards and procedures.
- Capable of working independently and leading small teams on-site.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks involving climbing, bending, and crawling.
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the time or more.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher, preferably in a related field.
