Civil CAD Designer
I am working with a well-established engineering firm in Grand Junction who is seeking skilled Civil CAD Designers with strong proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D. This role involves preparing detailed drawings and improvement plans for civil engineering projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Produce improvement plans, exhibits, and technical drawings under the guidance of licensed civil engineers.
- Generate 3D renderings and planning-level documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Draft plan and profile views for streets, storm drains, sewers, water systems, and grading plans.
- Create and manipulate construction details, cross-sections, and earthwork models.
- Utilize Civil 3D tools for surface modeling, quantity calculations, and heat maps.
- Interpret sketches, specifications, and survey data to produce accurate technical plans.
- Address redlines from public agencies and internal reviews.
- Prepare conceptual designs using Google Earth, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Ensure compliance with agency-specific drafting standards and presentation formats.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Working knowledge of InfraWorks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Background in land development, civil engineering, survey, or hydrology.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred but not required.
- E.I.T. certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
