Civil Engineer - Transportation

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation projects, including traffic signal design, roadway improvements, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions that improve mobility and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review traffic signal design plans, including detection systems, signal poles (mast arms/span wire), signal heads, cabinets, wiring, and associated equipment
- Prepare plans for pavement markings, signage, ADA-compliant ramps, and pedestrian signal installations
- Conduct traffic studies and prepare reports, including Traffic Impact Studies
- Utilize design software such as Synchro, VISSIM, MicroStation, and InRoads for project development
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5-15 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation design (8+ years preferred)
- Proficiency in traffic analysis and design software (Synchro, VISSIM, MicroStation, InRoads)
- Strong understanding of traffic signal systems and ITS design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
