The Role

A senior-level civil engineering and project management position for an experienced engineer ready to lead complex land development projects, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. You'll work across all phases from project entitlement and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent civil engineering projects across all phases of design and delivery
  • Lead design team efforts and coordinate with multi-discipline internal teams
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, and earthwork calculations
  • Prepare and process civil construction documents and mapping documents
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
  • Foster long-term client relationships and support business development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license required
  • 10+ years of professional land development experience
  • Experience across commercial, institutional, healthcare, municipal, or federal project types
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi-discipline design teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • California PE registration
  • Stormwater experience in San Diego County
  • Specification preparation experience
  • Established San Diego client relationships

Compensation

  • $120,000 to $170,000 depending on experience
  • Paid overtime, competitive year-end bonus, 401(k) with up to 5% match, and generous PTO
  • 3/2 hybrid schedules with half-day Fridays
