Commissioning Manager (Brisbane)

A leading construction and services contractor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to deliver commissioning activities on mission-critical data centre projects.
You will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of all critical building services and ensuring systems are installed, tested, integrated, and commissioned in line with design, project specifications, and client requirements.
The Role
You will manage and coordinate commissioning across all major services disciplines, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and commissioning stakeholders to achieve successful project and handover outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Management
- Lead commissioning for all critical building services
- Develop, review, and manage commissioning plans, procedures, and test documentation
- Prepare energisation plans and coordinate Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and performance testing
Planning & Coordination
- Align commissioning activities with the construction programme
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers across multiple disciplines
- Sequence works with site teams to meet commissioning and client milestones
Client, CxA & Documentation
- Act as the primary interface with the client and Commissioning Agent
- Facilitate inspections, witnessing, and reporting
- Review design and shop drawings for commissioning and serviceability requirements
- Ensure commissioning records and reports support a compliant and smooth handover
Health, Safety & Quality
- Promote strong safety leadership throughout commissioning activities
- Ensure quality standards and project requirements are met
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong building services background (trade, diploma, or degree level)
- Proven experience on data centre projects in commissioning, electrical, or building services roles
- Experience managing critical services (electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, fire)
- Experience contributing to commissioning and energisation plans
- Ability to develop and review commissioning test scripts
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
