A growing engineering and construction management consulting firm is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support and expand its water and wastewater construction management practice in Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to join an established team with a strong backlog of municipal infrastructure projects while helping build and lead a growing construction management group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction management efforts on water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Oversee construction activities, schedules, budgets, contractors, and change orders
- Manage projects involving treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and utility infrastructure
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Provide construction administration and ensure successful project delivery
- Mentor and develop Resident Engineers, Inspectors, and Construction Management staff
- Support recruitment efforts and help grow the regional construction team
- Build relationships with municipal clients and support business development initiatives
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, resident engineering, or construction inspection
- Strong background in water and wastewater construction projects
- Experience overseeing complex municipal infrastructure projects from construction through closeout
- Understanding of both the owner and consultant side of project delivery
- Proven leadership experience developing teams and managing client relationships
- Business development experience and existing relationships within the Virginia water market are a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
