What You'll Do
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Lead mechanical design management across new builds, expansions, and upgrade projects.
- Oversee external design consultants, run design workshops, and ensure alignment with global engineering standards.
- Review and approve technical submissions, BIM models, and design proposals.
- Advise on cutting‑edge mechanical technologies that improve efficiency, PUE and long‑term sustainability.
- Support testing & commissioning activities (FAT, SAT, IST) and ensure full compliance with internal policies.
- Collaborate daily with construction, operations, procurement and commercial teams.
- Drive discussions with general contractors to ensure milestones, documentation and handover requirements are met.
- Interface with customers to translate technical needs into clear design requirements.
What You Bring
- Mechanical Engineering degree with 5-10 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in data centres or mission‑critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese building codes, mechanical systems and MEP design.
- Professional certifications such as:
- First‑Class Building Services Engineer (Mechanical)
- Professional Engineer (Mechanical)
- First‑Class Architect
- Experience with BIM, BMS/EPMS coordination and design management processes.
- Native‑level Japanese communication skills and good English proficiency.
- A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally overseas.
