Position Overview
A fast-growing AI infrastructure company is seeking a Director of Data Center Commissioning to ensure flawless performance of its high-density GPU facilities from Day 0. This role leads integrated systems testing across mechanical, electrical, controls, and security systems, validating readiness for multi-megawatt workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own commissioning plans (Levels 1-5) aligned with ASHRAE and Uptime Tier standards.
- Author pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and IST scripts.
- Coordinate third-party commissioning agents, OEM service teams, and site operations during energization and load-bank testing.
- Analyze telemetry data (BMS, EPMS, DCIM) to validate PUE, redundancy, and failover performance.
- Manage issue logs, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Package final turnover documentation including O&M manuals, test reports, and training materials.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience commissioning mission-critical MEP systems (UPS, switchgear, chillers, pumps, BMS/EPMS).
- Proven track record with ISTs ≥ 20 MW and rack densities ≥ 5 kW/ft².
- Familiarity with IST tools: load banks, networked power meters, thermal sensors.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, ASHRAE 90.4, IEC 61439, ISO 50001.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear executive summaries.
