A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering to join its growing Philadelphia team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced land development professional to take a leadership role in delivering complex projects while helping shape the future growth of an established practice. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, mentor engineering staff, and oversee projects from concept planning through final construction.

Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, design, permitting, and delivery of land development projects across a variety of sectors.
Project types may include:
- Mixed-use developments
- Commercial and retail projects
- Institutional facilities
- Residential developments
- Industrial and logistics facilities
- Infrastructure and site development projects
This position combines technical expertise, project management, client development, and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead land development projects from feasibility and entitlement through design and construction.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Oversee site design, grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, and erosion control systems.
- Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals with relevant agencies.
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering calculations, specifications, and supporting documentation.
Client & Business Development
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Support business development initiatives, proposals, and project pursuits.
- Identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts.
- Represent the firm at industry events and professional organisations.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Assist office leadership with resource planning and team development.
- Promote technical excellence and project quality across the team.
Technical Oversight
- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
- Oversee stormwater management and infrastructure design.
- Review engineering deliverables for technical quality and compliance.
- Provide guidance on complex design and permitting challenges.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
- 10+ years of land development or site civil engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing projects from concept through construction.
- Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utility design, and permitting.
- Experience managing client relationships and project financial performance.
- Valid driver's licence.
Preferred
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client acquisition.
- Active involvement in industry or professional organisations.
- Experience supporting both public and private sector development projects.
Technical Skills
- Site layout and land development design.
- Stormwater management and drainage analysis.
- Utility and infrastructure design.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling.
- Technical report and proposal preparation.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable civil design platforms.
