Drainage Engineer
A well-established civil engineering firm in the Chicago area is seeking a Drainage Engineer to join their team in Itasca, IL. This is a great opportunity to contribute to impactful roadway and transportation projects for state and local agencies. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in drainage design, particularly focused on roadway and highway systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hydraulic and drainage design efforts for projects with IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, and local municipalities
- Prepare detailed hydraulic calculations and technical reports for corridor improvements, intersections, and bridge crossings
- Develop contract specifications and bid documentation
- Participate in design and client meetings to support project delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hydraulic/drainage engineering for roadway/highway projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and drainage modeling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-2, XPSWMM, HydroCAD, and StormCAD
