Electrical Engineer III - Substations/Renewables (REMOTE)

We are seeking a Remote Electrical Substation or P&C Engineer to support the engineering and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and integration of substations that connect solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects to the grid-working closely with internal engineering teams, utilities, and EPC partnersin a fully remote environment (if preferred) and will be supporting projects from design to commissioning hand off.

This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in learning new things, enjoys technical ownership, and wants to contribute directly to the energy transition via intricate utility-scale solutions as our client provides services for solar, energy storage and data centers.

Position can sit 100% remote from the US if preferred but we also have 5 offices in satellite hubs across the country if desired.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • For mid-level consideration: 2-4+ years of experience in design within an EPC, utility, or consulting environment.
  • For senior/project engineer level consideration: 6-8+ years of experience. For lead level consideration: 10+ years.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage substation systems and equipment, experience with protection & control design, relay settings and/or commissioning, or substation physical (experience with at least 2 of these specialties preferred).
  • Experience supporting renewable energy projects (solar, wind, and/or BESS) - not needed - but a huge plus.
  • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and requirements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and common engineering analysis tools.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a fully remote, collaborative team environment.
