Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical & Commercial Projects
A nationally recognized engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of complex electrical systems for mission critical, life science, and commercial facilities. This is a full-time opportunity based in Alpharetta, GA, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge projects with long-standing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design power distribution, lighting, controls, backup power (UPS/generators), and renewable energy systems.
- Lead electrical design efforts for data centers, secure facilities, and life science environments.
- Guide junior engineers and designers in technical development and project execution.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and internal disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and code compliance reports.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and punch list reviews.
- Stay current with building codes, trends, and mission critical standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design for commercial or institutional buildings.
- Strong understanding of building, electrical, and energy codes.
- Experience mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
- 10+ years of experience with mission critical power distribution.
- LEED, WELL, or other industry certifications.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to travel for occasional site visits.
