Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mt Airy, Maryland. This role is critical to the success of our complex construction projects, including industrial plants, healthcare facilities, and mission-critical data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, cost estimation, and construction processes, with ability to produce accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Development:
    Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

  • Bid Coordination:
    Manage the bid process from initial review through final submission, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.

  • Scope Analysis:
    Review project drawings, specifications, and RFPs to determine scope and identify potential risks or value engineering opportunities.

  • Vendor & Subcontractor Engagement:
    Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and comprehensive pricing.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine estimates and support pre-construction planning.

  • Market Research:
    Stay current with market pricing, industry trends, and regional labor rates to ensure accurate forecasting.

  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and pricing data for future reference and audit purposes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in industrial, healthcare, or data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and NEC/NFPA codes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Trimble, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
