Enviornmental Planning Practice Lead
About the Role:
As the Environmental Planning Practice Lead, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects involving CEQA/NEPA compliance, land use planning, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. You'll lead a team of planners and scientists, collaborate with public and private sector clients, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, legally defensible documents and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead business development efforts, proposal writing, and client relationship management.
- Lead and manage environmental planning projects, including EIRs, EAs, IS/MNDs, and related technical studies.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team.
- Serve as a primary client contact and represent the firm in public meetings and hearings.
- Ensure compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and other applicable environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with internal technical experts and external stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in environmental planning, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of CEQA/NEPA processes and California land use regulations.
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with public agencies, municipalities, and private developers.
- AICP certification or similar credentials preferred.
