About the Role:
A well-established mechanical contractor with a strong footprint in healthcare construction is seeking experienced HVAC and Plumbing Estimators to support its growing portfolio of healthcare projects in the Raleigh area. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a deep understanding of mechanical systems in healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC and plumbing scopes on healthcare construction projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost projections.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and vendor pricing databases.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations with internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing estimating, preferably within healthcare or institutional construction.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
