Position Overview:
They are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to lead and manage complex geotechnical engineering projects from inception through completion. This role involves both technical leadership and project management responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on client interaction, team development, and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Conduct and supervise field investigations, including subsurface soil and rock explorations, hydrogeologic assessments, and foundation evaluations.
- Perform and review advancedgeotechnical analyses such as:
- Slope stability
- Rock and soil anchor design
- Dam safety and breach analysis
- Tunnel and underground structure design
- Pile and caisson load testing
- Soil nailing and ground improvement
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and construction documentation.
- Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and regulatory compliance.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client meetings.
- Maintain professional licensure and pursue continuing education to stay current with industry standards and innovations.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I/II) and related environmental evaluations (preferred).
- Monitor construction activities and provide geotechnical oversight during implementation phases.
- Manage project budgets, invoicing, and scheduling.
- Resolve technical and client-related challenges with sound engineering judgment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Strong technical background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Experience with environmental assessments is a plus.
