Position Overview
They are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to lead complex geotechnical engineering projects from concept through completion. This role involves technical leadership, client engagement, and team development while ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety standards across project teams.
Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering leadership and professional growth.
Oversee project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
Perform and review advanced geotechnical analyses, interpret field and lab data, and prepare technical reports.
Manage client relationships, including scope adjustments and expectation alignment.
Prepare and review proposals, assess project risks, and support operational leadership in strategic decisions.
Provide technical oversight for geotechnical design elements such as:
Shallow and deep foundations
Earth retaining structures and shoring systems
Pavement evaluations and design
Ground improvement techniques and groundwater control
Pile driving analysis and instrumentation systems
Contribute to expanding the organization's geotechnical capabilities and market presence.
Ensure continuous quality monitoring and improvement across all deliverables.
Conduct site inspections and participate in industry networking events as needed.
Qualifications
Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in geotechnical engineering, preferably on heavy civil projects.
Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., APILE, LPILE, SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, GRLWEAP).
Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD and related design standards.
Familiarity with regional geology and local design practices (GA/FL preferred).
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Credentials
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Active membership in relevant technical associations.
