This firm is seeking a highly experienced and business-savvy Senior Project Manager - Lab Planner to lead strategic laboratory planning and design initiatives for science and research clients. This fully remote role requires strong expertise in lab programming, test fitting, and design, as well as the ability to engage in business development-particularly within the Boston life sciences market.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional with deep knowledge of laboratory design standards, code requirements, and operational workflows. You'll work closely with clients, internal teams, and consultants to deliver high-performance lab environments that support cutting-edge research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead lab planning and design efforts for science and research facilities, including programming, test fitting, and schematic development.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, guiding them through planning and design decisions.
- Drive business development in the Boston life sciences market, identifying opportunities and cultivating client relationships.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure integrated and compliant lab designs.
- Stay current on laboratory codes, standards, and best practices, ensuring all designs meet regulatory and operational requirements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with precision and accountability.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture.
- Active licensure preferred (Architecture).
- 10+ years of experience, 4+ years in lab planning and project management, with a strong portfolio of science and research projects.
- Proven business development experience, especially within the Boston life sciences sector.
- Expertise in lab programming, test fitting, and design documentation.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory codes, safety standards, and operational workflows.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
