Manager of Engineering - Electric Utility | North Louisiana
A well-established electric utility provider in North Louisiana is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Engineering to lead the design, development, and maintenance of its electric distribution system. This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on system reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Position Summary:
The Manager of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing engineering operations related to electric distribution, transmission lines, and substations. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering design and maintenance of electric plant infrastructure
- Analyze system loading and reliability to support expansion and upgrades
- Investigate and mitigate outage events and power quality issues
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare technical reports, RFPs, and bid packages for construction and maintenance projects
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support system improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in utility operations
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and RUS standards
- Proficiency in system modeling, voltage drop and fault current analysis, and AMI systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including during emergency situations

Work Environment: Office and field-based, with occasional irregular hours during emergencies
