Mechanical Construction Project Manager - Job Summary
A mechanical construction firm in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Project Manager to oversee project execution and ensure customer satisfaction and profitability. This role reports to the Executive Vice President and involves managing contractual obligations, schedules, and promoting a safe work culture.
Essential Functions
- Attend regular planning and progress meetings with the project team
- Coordinate all project management activities for assigned accounts
- Purchase and manage subcontractors
- Prepare CPM schedules using Microsoft Project
- Conduct turnover and preplanning activities per company procedures
- Lead short interval planning meetings with foremen, subcontractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards
- Perform ongoing productivity studies
- Provide monthly cost reporting and project status forecasting
- Approve equipment and material submittals to meet contract requirements
- Prepare quantity takeoffs for estimating and purchasing
- Analyze system designs for design-build or value engineering opportunities
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
- Deliver quality customer service and follow-up
- Interface with clients at all levels and coordinate project status updates
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical construction project management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across departments and with clients
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- High energy and sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and technical documents (preferred)
- Knowledge of piping and sheet-metal systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (a plus)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship
Position Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Location: On-site in Harrisburg, PA (not remote)
