About the Role
A major electrical subcontractor headquartered in Virginia and part of a nationally recognized construction group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead and support high-value pursuits in the technical construction markets. This hybrid position is based in Richmond, VA, with a requirement for weekly in-person collaboration and proximity to a regional office.
The Preconstruction Manager will play a pivotal role in client engagement, estimating strategy, and team development, with a strong focus on data centers and advanced technology projects. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to help shape the future of a growing preconstruction team.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience managing preconstruction efforts for large-scale electrical projects, ideally over $100M in value
- Strong background in data centers, pharmaceutical, industrial, battery, or advanced technology sectors
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships; candidates with existing client connections are highly preferred
- Union experience preferred
- Must be comfortable in a client-facing role, with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to contribute to team culture and growth, with a willingness to engage in regular face-to-face collaboration
- Not suitable for candidates with a background focused on residential, commercial, or solar projects
