A nationally recognised engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to help lead and grow its South Florida operation.
This is an opportunity to join an established multidisciplinary engineering firm with hundreds of professionals across multiple offices nationwide and internationally. The company has a strong reputation across structural engineering, restoration, transportation, infrastructure, and building consulting, and is continuing to invest heavily in its Florida presence.
The Opportunity
As a Principal, you will be a key leader within the business, responsible for driving growth, developing client relationships, leading high-profile projects, and mentoring engineering teams.
You will have a genuine seat at the table, helping shape the strategic direction of the office while expanding your own market presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering projects from pursuit through delivery
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, and contractors
- Drive business development and revenue growth initiatives
- Mentor and develop project managers and engineering staff
- Review designs, reports, and technical deliverables
- Collaborate with senior leadership on hiring, strategic planning, and market expansion
- Serve as Engineer of Record on complex projects
- Represent the firm within the South Florida engineering community
Requirements
- PE License required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience
- Proven experience managing client relationships and winning work
- Strong knowledge of building design and construction
- Previous leadership, team management, or office management experience preferred
- Established network within the Florida engineering market is highly desirable
