Principal Water Planning Manager

The Principal Water Planner will be in charge of spearheading the Colorado business unit, both assisting with old and new clients in the western US.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Water Resources or Geology focused
  • 10+ Engineering Experience
  • At least 3 years of Management Experience
  • Groundwater Modelling Background
  • Knowledge of Local Utilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives
  • Demonstrate time management skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to Lead/ Mentor a group of at least 3 technical staff
  • Manage and coordinate budgets, timelines, and project scopes between clients and technical staff
  • Conduct alternative analyses and feasibility studies to support business case evaluations for project decisions.
  • Incorporate and communicate industry standards as well as client standards and requirements into project designs.
  • As leader of the project team, coordinate required permits which may require meetings with clients, contractors, utility companies, and permitting governmental agencies.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget using appropriate verification and tracking techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manage relationships with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk management activities to minimise project risks.
  • Consistently deliver planned profit margins.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor and resource for project teams.
  • Provide specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations, plans, and specifications, and drawings.
