Civil Project Engineer - Land Development (Site Design Focus)
Location: Tustin, CA | Hybrid | Full-Time
A respected and innovative engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Project Engineer with a strong background in site design to join their Land Development team in Tustin, California. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Site Planning & Design
- Apply civil engineering principles to develop detailed site plans.
- Execute grading, drainage, utility layout, and other site development tasks.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all designs meet applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Support the permitting process and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
Technical Execution
- Utilize Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related tools to produce detailed plans.
- Perform engineering calculations for stormwater management, grading, and utilities.
Client Engagement
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and provide regular updates.
- Address client inquiries and ensure satisfaction throughout the project life-cycle.
Project Management
- Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
Quality Assurance
- Review design documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the design process.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in civil/site design engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD; strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Certification: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $85,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and location
