Project Manager - Combustion & Fuel Systems
A long-established, family-owned manufacturer of combustion and fuel oil systems is seeking a mid-level to senior Project Manager who is highly motivated and ready to hit the ground running. With over a century of experience, the organization offers American-made products across all areas of combustion and fuel oil systems.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the profitability and scheduling of assigned projects, taking full ownership from initial sales concept through to final design and delivery. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team, including electrical, mechanical, systems, programming, and field service engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design development from proposal to final engineering package
- Maintain regular communication with customers and provide project updates
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall profitability
- Coordinate with engineering teams to execute projects from sales through manufacturing and field startup
- Interpret and apply relevant codes and standards
- Read and understand electrical, mechanical, and construction drawings
- Utilize internal project management systems
- Attend occasional meetings and site visits (approx. 10% travel)
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing of custom-engineered equipment (experience with burner or boiler systems is a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with burner management systems and construction drawings/specifications
- Proficiency in DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated, driven, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn - training will be provided for the right candidate
