Project Manager- Water/Wastewater

A leading heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Field Superintendent to oversee Water & Wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Houston area. This role is responsible for coordinating all on-site construction activities, ensuring project safety, quality, schedule performance, and effective leadership of field teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce all jobsite safety policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractor activities, including development of 3‑week and 6‑week look‑ahead schedules
  • Document daily construction occurrences, activities, and field decisions
  • Review and interpret project scopes, budgets, plans, and specifications
  • Schedule, direct, and supervise field labor in a cost‑effective and efficient manner
  • Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and established quality standards
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the project‑specific quality control plan
  • Communicate proactively with the Project Team regarding design, technical issues, and construction progress
  • Maintain site security, uphold cleanliness standards, and manage general site conditions
  • Identify and resolve conflicts on‑site to maintain project momentum
  • Review drawings and plans for constructability and potential field issues
  • Lead onsite subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Assist with development and updates to the overall project schedule
  • Perform other project-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on Water & Wastewater construction projects
  • Experience with projects ranging from $1M to $40M in value
  • Working knowledge of all phases of civil construction
  • 30-hour OSHA certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with management, field crews, subcontractors, owners, and visitors
  • Ability to observe and monitor all jobsite conditions visually and audibly
  • Proven ability to coordinate field labor effectively and maintain accurate project documentation
