Sales Engineer - HVAC
A leading mechanical contractor in the Chicago area is seeking a Sales Engineer to support its HVAC division. This is a full-time opportunity for a technically minded sales professional to join a team known for delivering innovative and energy-efficient HVAC solutions to commercial and industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial HVAC market.
- Develop and present technical proposals for HVAC systems, retrofits, and upgrades.
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess client needs and system requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with facility managers, building owners, and consultants.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and local market dynamics.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC sales, engineering, or project development.
- Proven track record of selling HVAC solutions in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, controls, and energy efficiency strategies.
- Experience working with design-build or plan-and-spec projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and estimating software.
- Based in the Chicago area with knowledge of the local market.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for client meetings and site visits.
