Senior Coastal Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to join our team in Florida. This role focuses on delivering innovative coastal engineering solutions while managing projects and mentoring junior staff. You will lead technical design services for beach nourishment, shoreline protection, coastal resiliency, and living shoreline projects, while contributing to business development and client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead coastal engineering projects from feasibility studies through final design.
  • Oversee project scope, budget, and schedule, coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and apply coastal modeling tools for resilient coastal protection projects.
  • Prepare technical documents, including specifications, reports, and regulatory applications.
  • Support business development through proposal writing and client engagement.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
  • Participate in fieldwork, including site inspections and construction observations.
  • Represent the company at conferences and technical meetings.

Representative Projects

  • Beach nourishment and inlet management projects.
  • Coastal and marine structures (jetties, groins, seawalls, docks, breakwaters).
  • Living shoreline design and ecosystem restoration.
  • Coastal resiliency planning and vulnerability assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida
  • Minimum 7 years of coastal engineering experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills; familiarity with coastal modeling software preferred.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and project management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
