Senior CX Manager
An Owner's Representative is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning delivery across mission-critical data center builds. This role will take ownership of end-to-end commissioning strategy and execution, ensuring all systems are delivered, tested, and ready to operate at the highest reliability standards. The position involves extensive travel across active project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning activities from design through turnover across multiple data center projects
- Act as the Owner's lead for commissioning, coordinating between GCs, MEP trades, and commissioning agents
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and execution strategies
- Oversee installation verification, pre-functional, and functional testing for all MEP systems
- Drive issue resolution, tracking deficiencies through to full closeout
- Ensure systems meet performance, redundancy, and uptime requirements
- Review design documentation to ensure commissionability and alignment with owner standards
- Lead commissioning meetings and provide clear reporting to stakeholders
- Support integrated systems testing and final handover to operations teams
Required Experience
- 10+ years' experience in commissioning or MEP delivery on mission-critical or data center projects
- Strong background working for an owner's rep, GC, or commissioning firm
- Experience leading commissioning on large-scale data center builds
- Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within data centers
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or travel across sites
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, scripts, and documentation
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling infrastructure
- Familiarity with integrated systems testing and reliability validation
- Ability to review drawings, sequences of operation, and control strategies
- Proficient with commissioning and project tracking tools
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive performance across multiple contractors
- Confident communicator with experience reporting to ownership stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Able to operate independently in a high-travel environment
Location & Travel
- Fully travelling role across data center projects in the US
- Significant time spent on-site through commissioning and handover phases
