The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you may:
- Serve as project lead and technical expert, including management or administrative responsibilities on power generation projects.
- Develop electricaldrawingdeliverables such as:
- One‑line and three‑line diagrams
- Motor schematics, breaker control schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Cable sizing and cable schedules
- Perform complex engineering calculations including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash analysis, relay settings, and battery/charger sizing.
- Create equipment specifications and bills of materials.
- Develop project schedules and man‑hour budgets.
- Conduct site visits, interface with clients, and provide construction support.
- Utilize software tools such as ETAP/SKM, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
Work Location: Candidate must be located-or willing to relocate-to one of several designated major office locations in the U.S. (all anonymized).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on engineering standards, codes, and organizational policies.
- Support quality assurance, improvement processes, and risk management.
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or large‑scale projects.
- Conduct research and develop recommendations for materials and equipment.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and quality performance.
- Delegate tasks and review work of junior team members.
- Coordinate across internal and external project teams.
- Identify client priorities and incorporate them into project execution.
- Support business development efforts.
- Serve as a technical specialist or subject‑matter expert.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff.
Management Responsibilities
- Supervise team members and oversee hiring, performance, and compensation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading utility‑scale power generation design projects.
- Background in LV/MV systems for conventional power generation.
- QA/QC and project leadership experience.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
- Experience with a wide range of electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, relays, batteries, disconnects, cables, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 11 years of relevant experience.
- Active professional engineering license (PE or equivalent).
- Ability to complete background screening and other onboarding requirements.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options may be available after the first 90 days, depending on performance and role requirements.
