One of our top Clients is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager to lead complex CEQA projects out of our Los Angeles office. This is a high-visibility leadership role within a Top 15 ENR-ranked, privately held engineering and environmental services firm with a growing backlog on the West Coast and national footprint.
The ideal candidate brings over a decade of environmental planning experience, deep knowledge of CEQA compliance, and a proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead CEQA environmental documentation for complex transportation and land use projects in California.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
Oversee and mentor a team of environmental planners and support staff, fostering technical growth and leadership development.
Experience with other state-specific and federal regulations is a plus (NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, and USFWS).
Support strategic growth initiatives across the West Coast and contribute to national practice development.
Maintain and grow client relationships with public agencies, municipalities, and private-sector partners.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of environmental planning experience with a strong focus on California CEQA compliance.
Extensive experience managing CEQA processes for transportation and land use projects.
Working knowledge of federal environmental regulations (e.g., NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, ESA) is preferred.
Proven leadership in managing project teams and mentoring junior staff.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, or related field.
