Senior Mechanical Engineer
A nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm with a multi-office presence across the United States is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join its team in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will leverage extensive experience in building systems design across a range of project types and complexities. This role is responsible for overseeing and executing all phases of design and construction, while also mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform or review design calculations and equipment selections
- Evaluate and assess existing building systems
- Collaborate directly with clients to establish project criteria, design goals, and budget parameters
- Develop design concepts aligned with client objectives
- Prepare project specifications
- Conduct energy and lifecycle cost/payback analyses
- Design mechanical systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Manage discipline-specific project teams, including budgets and assignments
- Ensure quality assurance and coordination with other engineering disciplines
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Perform site visits, field investigations, and submittal reviews during construction
- Oversee multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining project schedules and financial targets
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers
- Assist with proposals and client presentations
- Stay current with industry trends through continuing education, training, and professional development
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain licensure in additional states)
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in building systems design
- Proficiency with engineering calculation software and equipment selection tools
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
